Siskiyou Teen Circle: Ages 14-17 (high school girls)
Led by Tracy John & Jennifer Hall-Brooks
There is a way in- positively supporting girls in this beautiful-crazy time in their lives! We challenge the girls to move beyond their comfort zones- holding the space every step of the way. We laugh, get real, get silly and learn to listen & value one another's insights & experiences. We show up and drop in & let go of the fronts. We work towards accepting one another- and ourselves- for simply being who we are. We're so grateful to be doing this special work with them. We hold each of your girls close in our hearts! We love circle!
We meet currently once a month for 4 hours. We alternate between the middle and high school circles. We go on 2-3 outings per school year (sometimes more)! Every circle girls are met with a structured topic, time for check in, circle opening and closing rituals, games and team building experiences, an art project that relates to our topic, and healthy- organic mini-lunch. Cost is sliding scale: $500-$750/school year (can be broken into payments) and covers nearly everything- Art fees & supplies, food, small outing fees, journal and supplies and more. (Exception: major outing fees).
Our goal is for girls to feel a sense of belonging and self-acceptance in who they are- as they grow into who they are becoming. In circle we share ideas, beliefs and opinions, laugh, journal, create cool art, explore relevant topics, play games, challenge ourselves and go on adventures. So far this year we have explored & discussed body image, self acceptance, boundaries, boys & healthy relationships, friendship, trust, stress, and more. We have had outings to see Embrace, make vision boards, a self-defense clinic, had an on the town scavenger hunt, a gift exchange, gone ice skating and more!
If your daughter is interested in joining us for a 2017-2018 Siskyou Circle, please phone us!
Also- check out the Girls Coastal Adventure and Teen Coastal Adventure Summer Camps- many circle girls attend these- and it's a great way to build connection with circle girls and facilitators!
